Golf Solitaire

Golf Solitaire is the fastest card game on this site. Thirty-five cards in seven columns, one card turned up, and a single rule: play anything one rank above or below it. Suits are ignored entirely. A round takes about two minutes and you will lose more than you win, which is the game rather than a complaint.

Aces and kings join up here — an ace plays on a king and a king on an ace. That is the more forgiving of the two common versions and it is deliberate: without the wrap a king can only ever be reached from a queen, and about one deal in three becomes unwinnable through no fault of yours.

There is no redeal. Sixteen cards in the stock is the whole of your second chances, and each one is spent whether it helps or not. That is what turns this from a game about drawing into a game about which column you dig into first, and it is why your best time is worth keeping.
