A picture appears with its word written underneath and three letters to choose from. Your child taps the letter the word starts with. The word is shown deliberately: a child who cannot read it yet still has the picture, and one who is starting to can match the shape they see against the letter they are picking.
Every word begins with the sound its first letter makes. No chair, no shark, no phone — those are wrong in the way that matters while being right on paper, and they teach the opposite of the thing. Nothing is timed. A wrong tap leaves the question up rather than marking it, and the count only goes up. The pictures are drawn rather than borrowed from an emoji font, so a goat cannot turn up looking like a sheep on somebody's phone.
