Between two and nine things appear in a row — apples, fish, stars, cars — with three numbers underneath. Your child counts them and taps. The two wrong numbers sit close to the right one on purpose: a number far away gets dismissed on sight, and then no counting has happened.
It stops at nine because past about there a child stops counting and starts guessing. Nothing is timed. A wrong tap leaves the question on screen to look at again rather than marking it wrong, and the round moves on when your child taps Next, not when a clock decides they have had long enough. The tally counts what has been got right and never goes down. Every question is written out for a screen reader, and it is there for you to read aloud.
